Report on the Survey on working conditions of AV translators in Croatia
Croatian Association of Audiovisual Translators presented the results of the survey it conducted at the end of 2021 in collaboration with the Department of English of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in cooperation with our member and colleague Kristijan Nikolić.
This is the first survey in Croatia about the working conditions of translators in general, including in the audiovisual sector.
The goal of this survey was to map out the current situation in AV translation and create a point of reference for the Association's targeted activities in the future, as well as a database for potential discussions on the improvement of working conditions. The were recently published by the European Commission, are a big step forward, giving freelancers the opportunity to actively participate in negotiations regarding their labour rights, working conditions and fair compensation.
